FAQ
Q1: What does the NGE board do?
A: Orona calls it the energy manager, and its ARCA III instructions state that all the power supply circuits of the control are generated and controlled from this board. It works with three companions in the same box: the FAL power supply 5124504, the NRM manual rescue board 5124505 and the battery. That is why a fault here stops the lift completely instead of disabling a single function.
Q2: Is 5124503 still available, and what replaces it?
A: Orona has superseded it with 8476001, which comes in a configured version, 8476001-1, and as a set with the FAL board, 8476001-2. The current generation is the NGE-V3, which Orona’s distributors now offer in place of 8476001-1. We supply the V2 and the later versions, so tell us which one your cabinet runs before you order.
Q3: Does a replacement board need configuration?
A: Yes. The NGE is not a plug-and-run board: it is programmed for the installation, and Orona’s distributors ask for the installation number before they supply one. Parameters such as the rescue speed live in this board, and the battery management values do too. Send us the installation number and the number on the old board, and we will confirm what you need.
Q4: The controller keeps reporting battery faults 1819 or 211, but the battery is charged.
A: Orona’s ARCA III troubleshooting guide treats this as a parameterisation fault rather than a battery fault. The fix it gives is to take the Limits_Rint file from ODM, load it to the OMS and then upload it to the NGE, which resets the internal limits and stops the error. Replacing the battery first will not clear it.
Q5: What does fault 511 mean on this cabinet?
A: 511 is an NRM relay failure, so the first check is the wiring between the NGE and the NRM board. If that wiring is correct, the guide’s next step is to update the NGE firmware to version 1.80. Do the wiring check first, because a firmware update will not fix a broken connection.
Q6: What causes the overvoltage messages?
A: The NGE carries a gas discharge device that detects overvoltages on the incoming supply, and the board reports what that device sees. So the message can be a genuine supply event rather than a board failure, and the supply should be checked before the board is condemned. A photo of the board, with the fault present, helps us tell the two apart.
